Punta Laguna (The spider monkey Reserve) is a rural Maya community immersed in the dense canopy of the tropical forest. This reserve has been conserved by the local community which recognizes it as a special land with diverse plants and animals.
This Mayan community preserves much of their traditions and customs and they will guide us through the amazing natural environment, walking on the Maya trails looking for wildlife, learning about the trees and their medicinal properties. It is still possible to observe troops of spider and howler monkey eating chicozapote fruits or see large flocks of colorful parrots returning to their roost in the evening.
After walking through the magical passageways of the jungle and its wildlife, you will find yourself immersed in transparent lagoon giving life to this sustainable ecosystem. As optional activities, we can cross the lagoon by canoe paddling into the other side of the jungle, fly with the zip line on top of this landscape and be part of a small sacred Maya ceremony.
We will explore a hidden cenote and at the end, we will have the opportunity to learn more about this fascinating culture by enjoying a delicious fresh meal prepared by the people of the community.
