Glide with your kayak into and around beautiful wetland mazes, wildlife, and local Mayan history in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve (SKBR).
The SKBR was established in 1986 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It is also a RAMSAR site due to the international importance of it’s wetlands. It is home to a large number of resident and migratory bird species (around 320), five neotropical felines, sea turtles, crocodiles, tapirs, and manatees.
This expedition is the best opportunity to get introduced to kayaking for first-timers or experienced ones who want to explore the incredible natural wonders of this region.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate/ Flexible. This experience requires paddling in the calm waters of the mangrove mazes of Sian Ka´an and snorkeling in the refreshing water of the cenote. We expect to paddle up to three and a half hours, segmented with regular breaks. However, if adverse conditions such as strong winds and currents impede our progress, we may need to paddle longer in order to reach our destination. This trip is suitable for those with no paddling experience, although it will be helpful to know in advance that you actually enjoy kayaking before signing on for this tour.
Note: As our adventures are performed in the natural wild places the Physical Requirements can be also influenced by the weather conditions.

My Y.O. Story
“This is a first class socially and environmentally responsible tour operation. The guides really know their stuff, and provide an incredible depth of knowledge about the local ecology which makes for an unbelievable experience away from the crowds just wanting to take pictures, yes, you’ll take amazing pictures but the experience goes way beyond any photo that you can take. If you’re looking for a special experience that requires a bit more effort, for a much bigger reward, and you can handle whatever nature will throw at you then this organization is the best in region.”
“The guides were very relaxed and fun to adventure with. I’m not a big bird person but watching the birds return home to a small mangrove island for the night at sunset was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We are so grateful that we could experience such amazing events, and I recommend these trips to anyone and everyone. Also, the fresh fruit and tamales were SO good.”
